We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t have a mother. Mothers mean a lot to a lot of people. Mothers love us, they feed us and nurture us, they give us life, they raise us as best as they can, they encourage us and forgive us.

It has been said and I am sure most will agree that a mother is very important in everyone’s life and without her life would be unimaginable.

Everyone sees Mother’s Day as a day to thank mums for being there and for being so special. And it is a day for everyone to sit back and celebrate their mum.

If you are seeking a gift idea to say thanks..... we have lots of lovely sweet things...like our

White jasmine and pine needle- Inspired by childhood imaginings of a morning breeze in spring. Delicate, beautiful and pure.

The perfect gift, presented in a beautifully crafted gift box. Each candle is set into frosted glass to compliment any home. Made from clean burning, 100% natural soy wax, the healthy alternative to traditional paraffin. 310g- 60 hours burn time.
Have a wonderful week ahead!

Lovely occasional chairs

I just adore occasional chairs … it is such a practical piece of furniture that is extremely versatile... it can add that real WOW factor in any space, can be pulled up for extra setting when required and can fill an empty space in a room.
You don't have to spend a fortune ... search thrift shops or eBay for bargains. Old occasional chairs can receive a cheery lift when reupholstered. There are so many fabulous fabrics available in stunning colourways and patterns.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend ahead!

Special morning

Don't you love spare of the moment outings?
I had one this morning. After dropping girls to school, we took hubby into the city for a meeting and ended up at Roma St Parkland's, in Brisbane city with my little man & Cheeky Charley.
We had a glorious morning wondering around admiring the waterfalls and stunning flowers in bloom! My little man loved it and keep saying "how wonderful is this Mummy, can we come back again?"

Family Traditions

We have several traditions in our family, one that my husband & I cherish the most is our "Family Day."
This occurs every Sunday in which we all come together and spend the day as a family. We all lead such hectic life styles and are constantly rushing from one activity to another, and we have noticed as our children are growing up, we don't come together that often as a complete family. I miss that & really love our "Family Day".
We don't do anything outrageous, it may just be a simple walk in the park or picnic. The other great thing about family day is I don't have to cook!! Sunday dinner is always provided by my hubby or sometimes daughter # 1 decides to whip up a storm. Tonight he created a new yummy dish.

Today we:-

Had a quiet brekky together
Planted some herbs and vegetable seeds in the garden
Did an outside clean up - two car loads to the salvos
Snooze
Bike ride on the local bike track
My sister & niece visited - kids swam and we had a wine
Some owl crafting was done by middle girl
Hubby cooked gorgeous dinner -  Pea, mint & pine nut pasta. Sorry didn't get chance to photo dish once plated up - they all started eating before I got camera out!

Perfect Sunday for me!
Does your family have any traditions?
Have a wonderful week ahead.

Beautiful Brisbane city

Feeling very blessed to live in such a beautiful city. I woke early this morning before my little cherbus are up to go for my long weekend run. My favourite run is along the Brisbane river. It is so magical first thing in the morning.
This is my view whilst running....photo's taken via my iphone so not the best. But I think they speak for themselves.

This last one is taken whilst waiting for my take away coffee...treat after a great run!
Happy Saturday to you all wherever you maybe...

Birthday

My girl had a fabulous day on her special day. She was so excited, just adorable and grateful for everything we did and gave her.
Each birthday my children have I do get a little sad as they seem to be growing up so quickly. I loved when they were home and our days were spent at parks, playgroup or just at home. We didn't have to be rushing all the time to make it to school, sport training or swimming lessons. Even my two little ones are in the rush mode, we never have pj days - only Sundays are free for that.
Why do we live in such a fast pace and now our children are getting caught up in it??

My girls birthday

Wow my middle girl is turning 9 tomorrow. She is extremely excited about her special day and this is the first time she will be celebrating it on a school day.  Normally it coincides with Easter holidays.
This is rather embarrassing, this cross stitch cushion I started for her I think about three or four years ago, it then got stashed away in my cupboard of unfinished projects.
Today I dug it to get it finished for her birthday. You want believe it....project still not complete as my sewing machine is playing up.
I was so close to getting it complete in time. Just a little more stitching to join the front & back of the cushion together. She is an understanding daughter...hopefully can get my machine repaired quickly as have several projects that require machine sewing.
Will update you with finish project..hopefully sooner than later!
Her gifts are wrapped & ready. Have hidden for the morning present hunt!

Another sleepover party...

Another sleepover party for my middle daughter - seems to be popular theme for 9year old girls.
So she requested a cushion and her brief was girly fabrics and colour scheme of purples; greens and blues. I think this met the brief and going by the little girls response once opened I think it did. She instantly cuddled it and said this will be the cushion I sleep with!
My big girl also made her a headband with a pretty purple flower made out of felt attached to the side - this was quickly placed on the birthday girls head & matched brilliantly with the purple shirt she was wearing.
This cushion was made using 3" squares and a little complementary button was attached to the centre. Also a zip is on the reverse so can be easily washed.

New crafter in the making...

My eldest daughter has enjoyed a productive few days getting crafty. She has always enjoyed making things, now she is inspired to make hair clips & bags to hopefully sell!! It's wonderful watching your children be creative and the delight on their faces when the project is complete.
My big girls is pretty much self taught & spends many happy hours fiddling with fabric & watching tutorials on you tube, then escapes to the sewing room to create her own little designs. My creative space is no longer my own! I don't mind sharing with her at all.
Very proud Mummy.

Easter Farm Stay

We had such a wonderful time in the country this long Easter weekend. Lots of time relaxing on the deck looking out to the countryside & breathing in the fresh air. My little man & big man had time to have a kick together, play in the sandpit, Cheeky Charley loved crawling on the lush lawn and I found time to work on quilting "Follow Your Heart".
Have come home feeling refreshed and ready to handle to remainder of the school holidays.
